I will dedicate this Post to St Paul's Bay .
One of the most beautiful, colourful villages, diverse in its nature, encompassing a mixture of rural characteristics with its farming and fishing elements and touristic emphases. Having such a deep historical background to its formation. With St Paul's Island commanding the view of the entire area where Christianity is said to have embarked on its long journey on our island when the apostle St Paul was shipwrecked here .
This village initially made up off a couple of streets lined with one storey houses and small streets branching of to the sea ,now having branched into a multitude of not so small roads and streets leading to areas of Bugibba and Qawra and Xemxija . I still remember jumping directly into fields from Parades street and walking right through to the top of Wardija . For us kids ,it was like reaching Mount Everest . Now you have to walk through a highway st Paul's bay Bypass, to do the same thing . That s development .
St Paul's Bay still remains the diamond in a set of jewels which make up our Island Malta and Gozo . You can travel to any country which can offer the same characteristics but it will never offer that special thing St Paul's Bay can offer; that small island with The Imposing statue of St Paul ,surrounded by beautiful sea and an inlet bay .
During these five years we have transformed St Pauls Bay . Kennedy grove and Salini have had the most beautiful transformation. Both parks are unique for Malta ,both have a historical background . Salini was built in the 16 Th century owing to the importance of salt for the conservation of food. In fact a defence wall was built, the Ximenes Redoubt . This is presently being restored and will form part of a visitors centre which will also incorporate a tunnel so that tourists would be able to visit the salt pans directly. The salt pans rehabilitation is an EU funded project costing 7 million euros which should be ready by 2013 . These are projects which form part of the governments vision of open parks for our families .

What about the splendid project done between local council and ministry of Tourism .The whole upgrading of st Paul's Bay promenade with a unique belvedere on one side of Wignacourt Tower and rehabilitation of the Sirens area ,st Gerald street
( This is my car )
The strategic importance of St Pauls bay is outlined by the fact that various Ministries where involved in various projects some of which are still ongoing . Malta depends solely on its human ingenuity and on tourism . The former inducing value added to the economy ,the latter being multisectorial in GDP generation ,involving different small business which are also ever present in St Pauls bay /Qawra area . That is the major reason why these big projects have and should generate business in this area and also shows this government attention to this particular locality .
( We have heard absolutely nothing of Labour's Plan for this area )
The WaterPark which was done under the auspices of the ministry of Rural affairs. It is amazing how children enjoy this particular park in Bugibba .The Bird Park in Burmarrad is a private Enterprise which was done with EU help . What about the Perched Beach which is such a successful project both for tourist and for our families
In St Paul's Bay one can find the only Bird park on the island , The only Classic Car Museum ,the only Water park ,the only large Salini with the Ximenes Redoubt, the only Wardija hill. the only historical Mill in Xemxija and now the only Aquarium . Such important tourist attractions located in St Paul's Bay
As mentioned above, the most ambitious and unique project which will be the only one in Malta is the Aquarium project near the area called Ta Fra Ben in Qawra . This should become one of the most exciting touristic destinations and an area of marine knowledge for Children and adults alike.
In conclusions ,we have a village to be proud of. We have a school which is the most inclusive of all schools in Malta , we have farmers and fisherman who keep the tradition and the unique characteristics of the locality . We have a diverse population with families who live here throughout the year but with families who only spend the summer months here .Young families who decide to settle here temporary until they find a more central dwelling . All are welcome , all make up the unique characteristics of St Paul,s Bay
